Role Overview

The Project Accountant is a crucial member of the WATG team, responsible for ensuring the financial aspects of projects are accurately managed. This role involves accounts receivable and payable procedures, project setup, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and experience in project accounting duties.

Responsibilities

• Reviews project contracts for financial details to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
• Maintains contract paperwork, invoices, aging accounts receivable, and vendor documents
• Posts cash receipts and journal entries for projects with withholding taxes, and updates billing and collection files daily
• Prepares mobilization invoices, gathers expense backups, and prepares weekly collection reports
• Performs accounts payable duties, including coding and posting vouchers, and updating tracking files for consultants
• Assists in project setup, maintenance, and close-outs, and prepares financial reports as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in project accounting duties in a mid-sized professional services organization
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, accounting software, and order processing
• Able to multitask daily tasks in a highly organized manner and work effectively in a team environment
