Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Machine Tool Maintenance Expert to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing electrical maintenance and repair services to our clients across the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a leading engineering consultancy and to develop your skills and expertise in a dynamic and challenging environment.
About the Role:
This role involves working on-site at client locations, installing and maintaining machine tools, PLC systems, and CNC wheel lathes. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting electrical issues, minimising downtime for clients, and working closely with our engineering team to deliver high-quality service and support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with hands-on experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting. Experience with machine tools and CNC wheel lathes is essential, and experience with travel is desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
* Installations & Maintenance: Work on the installation and maintenance of machine tools, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
* PLC Work (if electrical): Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC systems.
* CNC Wheel Lathes: Experience with CNC wheel lathes would be extremely advantageous.
* Travel: Be prepared to work away from home up to 4 nights a week, with all travel arrangements and expenses covered.
* Problem-Solving: Quickly diagnose and resolve electrical issues on-site, minimising downtime for clients.
* Collaboration: Work closely with the wider engineering team to deliver high-quality service and support.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Experience: Strong background in electrical engineering, with hands-on experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting. Experience with machine tools is essential, and experience with CNC wheel lathes would be a significant advantage.
* Flexibility: Willingness to travel and stay away from home for up to 4 nights a week.
* Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of PLC systems and the ability to read and work from electrical schematics.
