Job Title: Head of Events, Commercial Services and Community Resilience

We are seeking an exceptional leader to join our team as the Head of Events, Commercial Services and Community Resilience. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a number of key teams delivering services across Yorkshire and The Humber.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the delivery of events and commercial services, developing the Trust's first commercial strategy.
  • Provide excellent leadership skills to support the team to increase the excellent services provided by volunteers, ensuring an excellent volunteering experience.
  • Ensure excellent service delivery to our patients and paying customers, establishing and supporting teams with strong operational oversight.
  • Lead a culture of quality improvement throughout the service areas, ensuring excellent patient care is at the heart of all we do.
  • Lead the development and delivery of the first commercial strategy for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service.
  • Become part of the excellent tactical commander team supporting front line service response in an identified geographical area.
Requirements:
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills, with an ability to engage with a huge range of stakeholders, both within YAS, the health and social care system and across the private events market.
  • A strong background in core operational skills and understanding of service development.
  • Ability to use specialist knowledge to evaluate and make decisions and recommendations about current and future service provision.
  • Strong understanding of ambulance service markets and potential for development opportunities.
  • Highly developed people management skills.
  • Ability to problem solve complex situations taking into account YAS best interests foregoing personal or departmental gains.
  • Experience of implementing and evaluating customer research, market assessments and competitor analysis.
  • Evidence of recent and ongoing continuous professional development.
  • Understanding of NHS context and policy.
  • Understanding of NHS contracting and commissioning environment.
Desirable:
  • Understanding of project management including PRINCE 2 methodology.
  • Knowledge of the legislation and guidance around the required levels of medical care at large scale events.
  • Experience of delivering a quality service in a fast moving and changing environment.
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a customer environment and delivering measurable improvements in service.
