Job Title: Head of Commercial and Procurement

At the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS), we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our procurement transformation efforts. As the Head of Commercial and Procurement, you will play a critical role in driving our organization's growth and success by leveraging a collaborative buying approach and harnessing efficiencies and cost reduction.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy that aligns with our organization's goals and objectives.
  2. Partner with internal stakeholders to formulate and execute a strategic sourcing roadmap that supports operational objectives.
  3. Manage and refine supplier and product approval processes, including go-to-market, negotiations, and contract management.
  4. Evaluate and build key supplier relationships, and manage supplier performance against business requirements.
  5. Represent procurement as a function and provide stakeholder management and business sponsorship.
  6. Take a proactive approach to cost management and achieve cost reduction/benefit targets through a Total Cost of Ownership approach.
Requirements:
  1. University degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field, with an MBA or advanced degree highly desirable.
  2. Strong proficiency in English is a must.
  3. Strong project management skills, with the ability to think broadly over a long-term and understand business challenges, strategy interdependencies, and opportunities.
  4. Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to articulate financial implications and other benefits.
  5. 10-15 years of strategic sourcing experience, with strong knowledge of related sourcing processes, tools, systems, policies, and best practices.
  6. Experience in making tactical and strategic decisions, with strong people management capacity and leadership qualities.
  7. Proven track record of leading a regional/global procurement infrastructure aimed at improving sourcing processes through advanced tool selection and implementation.
  8. Experience working with sourcing tools, including Spend Analytics, Contract Management, and P2P platforms.
