About the Role


We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineering Director to join our team at Ahold Delhaize USA. As a key member of our technology organization, you will be responsible for leading the design, build, and operation of our Azure cloud infrastructure.



Key Responsibilities



  • Design and manage Azure core services with automation and infrastructure as code
  • Develop and maintain the continuous delivery framework and tools
  • Lead engineering practices around test-driven and continuous delivery of infrastructure
  • Integrate different components and develop new services with a focus on customer needs
  • Evaluate performance trends and establish scalability plans
  • Identify and troubleshoot availability and performance issues in Azure services and on-prem environments
  • Recommend and maintain Azure policies, governance, cost management guidance, and guardrails
  • Collaborate with solution architecture, platform engineering, and product teams for delivering solutions
  • Work within project management/agile scrum teams in a leading role as part of a wider team


Qualifications



  • 8+ years of IT experience focused on infrastructure, including server, storage, network, security, and identity
  • 4+ years of experience building, maintaining, and automating Azure environments in enterprise settings
  • 3+ years of experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools, such as ARM, Terraform, JSON, PowerShell, and GitHub
  • Hands-on technical experience supporting Azure Virtual Network, VWAN, Express Route, Load Balancer, Traffic Manager, CDN, Azure DNS, routing, and routing protocols like BGP, firewall concepts
  • Azure Identity experience, including Azure AD, PIM, Conditional Access, MFA, Azure AD Connect, passwordless sign-ins, Microsoft Defender, and key vault
  • Azure Governance, Security, Monitoring, Workbooks, Compliance, and cost awareness
  • Azure Virtual Machines, Containers, and/or Kubernetes and/or OpenShift (infrastructure perspective)
  • Azure Storage Account, Disk, Snapshot, Backup, Site Recovery, file sync, and Data Lake
  • Azure Administrator certification is required, while Azure DevOps and Azure Solutions Architect certifications are preferred


Preferred Qualifications



  • Hands-on experience deploying Azure Enterprise-scale reference architecture and its components
  • Experience in full-stack cloud infrastructure engineering, operations, and application knowledge
  • Ability to work in an extreme programming environment and work in a paired programming/engineering model
  • Ability to facilitate diverse teams, multitask, and work under pressure to meet aggressive schedule targets
  • Hands-on experience with IaC tools like ADO, ARM, Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Python, azcli, and GitHub
  • Design, configuration, and maintenance of Kubernetes environments using AKS
  • Technical expertise in Windows/Linux/VMware/Hyper-V/AKS, SQL, and No-SQL DB's, IaaS, PaaS, FaaS, Data, BCDR, Security, Management, Storage, Networking, Monitoring, Identity, and Connectivity
  • Experience working in DevOps and Agile environments
