We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our Product Maintenance team at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. Key Responsibilities- Scientific Expertise: Provide scientific expertise and input into the planning and execution of laboratory work, ensuring that experiments are designed and conducted to meet regulatory requirements.
- Project Collaboration: Actively participate in complex projects requiring cross-functional collaboration with other teams, including research and development, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs.
- Protocol Development: Develop, plan, and implement protocols to demonstrate that tests meet performance and regulatory requirements, ensuring that data integrity and traceability are maintained.
- Data Analysis: Generate and organize high volumes of data, ensuring that data is accurate, complete, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that own work meets regulatory and quality requirements, including compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), documentation using laboratory notebooks, study plans, and study reports.
- Laboratory Maintenance: Participate in tasks required for the maintenance of laboratory areas, including stock checks, ordering of reagents and consumables, and laboratory cleaning.
- Education: First and/or higher degree (or equivalent) in a life science, such as molecular biology, biochemistry, or genetics.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Desire to learn about regulatory requirements for in-vitro diagnostics and implementing efficient and effective studies to ensure compliance.
- Data Analysis: Experience of and confident in data analysis and interpretation.
- Documentation: Experience of and confident in the preparation of experimental reports and quality management system (QMS)/regulatory documentation.
- Personal Qualities: Enthusiasm, drive, thoroughness, diligence, and a willingness to take personal responsibility to ensure that projects are successful.
