Teaching Assistant Position

Horizon Teachers is working with a Primary school in Lewisham to find a highly skilled Teaching Assistant to support their team.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children in EYFS or Primary settings, with a strong emphasis on supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with an experienced team to provide personalized care and education to a range of children, enabling them to thrive and grow.

The successful candidate will be responsible for lunchtime supervision, behaviour management support, assisting with activity and lesson planning, and assisting with administrative duties. The school is easily accessible by public transport and has parking options available.

Requirements
  • Experience working with children in EYFS or Primary settings.
  • Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs or a good understanding of SEND within schools.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Confident and able to use your initiative.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with special needs.
  • Knowledge of relevant safeguarding policies and procedures.
