Fabrications Sheet Metal Worker Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Fabrications Sheet Metal Worker to join our Manufacturing Department at Accrofab Alcester Limited. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal components to meet the highest quality standards.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Operate air tools and hand tools safely and efficiently.
  • Set up and operate spot-welding equipment, roll-forming, and expanding machinery.
  • Use airflow rigs, ultrasonic degrease tanks, and rotary deburr barrels to prepare metal components.
  • Mark and engrave metal components using part marking equipment.
  • Set up machines with work holding and tooling in accordance with procedures.
  • Complete operations efficiently to achieve required output levels.
General Responsibilities:
  • Comply with all company Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements.
  • Read and understand Job Card instructions and requirements.
  • Ensure documentation is available at the point of use and at the correct revision.
  • Read and understand manufacturing instructions, including Machine and Tooling Set Up Packs, Engineering Drawings, Data Cards, Inspection Plans, etc.
  • Use measuring equipment to check conformance to requirements.
  • Carry out in-process inspection to ensure components conform to requirements.
  • Identify and communicate non-conforming components in accordance with the Non-Conformance Procedure.
  • Complete work booking requirements within the MRP system.
  • Follow work handling and storage instructions to prevent damage to components.
  • Support Root Cause Analysis activities to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Carry out and record TPM activities in accordance with the specified schedule.
  • Ensure work areas are tidy, cleaned, and maintained in accordance with 5S requirements.
  • Engage in Continuous Improvement activities to maximise efficiency.
  • Comply with all company procedures and policies.
Person Specification:
  • Desirable: 1-2 years' experience in the Aerospace Industry, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a similar role.
  • Must become familiar with quality and manufacturing standards and maintain and achieve specified targets and objectives.
  • Required to produce acceptable first-offs.
  • Train and coach fellow colleagues to suit business requirements.
  • Positive, 'can-do' attitude.
  • Takes full ownership of their area of responsibility.
  • Disciplined and self-motivated.
  • Strong teamwork and supportive mentality.
