About the Role

We're seeking a Senior Lighting Designer to join our London office, which is centrally located and easily accessible by the metro's Circle line or Bakerloo line. You'll be part of a multinational office environment full of passionate designers.

As a Senior Lighting Designer, you'll have demonstrable lighting design experience and be able to manage projects independently. Your role will be to develop and illustrate lighting concepts from initial briefing to completion, with a high level of integrity and precision across all design documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Specifying products under the guidance of the Director or Associate.
  2. Preparing Luminaire schedules and technical specifications.
  3. Reviewing and updating lighting control schedules.
  4. Crafting lighting control philosophies.
  5. Generating project reports.
  6. Conducting lighting calculations.
  7. Compiling concept presentations under the guidance of the Director or Associate.
  8. Creating content presentations and identifying design ideas under the guidance of the Director or Associate.
  9. Designing lighting layouts.
  10. Developing critical/installation lighting details.
  11. Reviewing and developing Design Documentation on a QA/QC basis.
  12. Creating necessary documentation in response to RFIs and establishing workflows for the post-contract stage.
  13. Generating required documentation for the tender process under the guidance of the Director or Associate.
  14. Demonstrating capability in developing a full scope (from concept to construction stage) of small-size projects (such as F&B, Residential apartments, stand-alone Retail, etc.).
  15. Demonstrating capability in developing a full scope (from concept to construction stage) of medium-size projects (such as Residential Villa, Building façade, Landscape, etc.).
Project Management
  1. Demonstrating excellent capability in managing the full scope of small-size projects.
  2. Demonstrating excellent capability in managing the complete post-contract scope of small-size projects.
  3. Demonstrating excellent capability in developing dedicated programs for small and medium-size projects.
  4. Exhibiting good capability in managing the full scope of medium-size projects.
  5. Demonstrating good capability in handling multiple deliverables concurrently.
  6. Exhibiting good capability in managing the full post-contract scope of medium and large-size projects.
  7. Taking ownership of delivering the full scope of small-size projects.
  8. Taking ownership of managing client expectations and maintaining continuous communication with the client design team.
  9. Taking ownership of requesting any necessary information or documentation to achieve the agreed targets.
  10. Taking ownership of achieving the targets agreed upon with the client.
  11. Maintaining constant control over the billing status of your projects.
  12. Managing multiple deliverables simultaneously.
  13. Managing and developing projects' standards documentation such as LEED, GSAS, ASHRAE, etc.
  14. Assisting the Director or Associate in managing and maintaining correspondence throughout the project stages with the design team (clients) for multiple projects.
  15. Managing and maintaining correspondence during the post-contract phase and staying up-to-date with RFI responses and internet-based document control systems such as Aconex for multiple projects.
  16. Overseeing the QA/QC process.
  17. Managing internal workflow between teams (CAD Team, Document controller, etc.).
  18. Supporting the Director or Associate in managing the projects' scope of work as per the contract.
Requirements
  1. The right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.
  2. 5-7 years of experience as a Lighting Designer in a lighting design consultancy.
  3. Bachelor or Master degree in Lighting Design, Interior Design / Architecture.
  4. Interior / architectural lighting design experience in luxury hospitality, high-end residential, F&B, clubhouse, or show flats.
  5. Proficient in Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, AutoCAD, Relux, DIALux, BIM/Revit.
  6. Demonstrate good knowledge of hospitality design.
  7. Demonstrate excellent 3D spatial visualization based on 2D information/drawings.
  8. Possess comprehensive product design knowledge from both technical and aesthetic perspectives.
  9. Fluent in English.
