Allocator Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Allocator to join our team at Great Bear, where you will play a crucial role in monitoring stock movements within our warehouse.

As an Allocator, you will be responsible for setting up and running orders in line with the shift plan to meet scheduled dispatch times. You will work closely with our warehouse First Line Managers to effectively manage resource and ensure that the flow of work is continuous to maximise efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Control equipment allocation within specified areas.
  • Pre-allocate loads and ensure advanced pick position is maintained in line with shift plan.
  • Monitor and update shift plans to deliver regular progress updates.
  • Movement of staff across work areas to maintain correct flow of activities.
  • Run orders in line with instruction and scheduled dispatch times.
  • Select appropriate loading and unloading bays based on current operational requirements.
  • Update electronic schedule and auto-store systems to maintain accurate representation of activities taking place on site.
  • Carry out stock shortage investigations on picks and monitor replenishments.
  • Compile and send reports as required.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience within a similar role in a fast-paced warehouse/3PL environment.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to effectively communicate internally and externally.
  • IT literate with knowledge surrounding MS Office and various WMS databases.
  • Effective organisation skills with ability to work from own initiative.
