Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Technical Buyer to join our team in a specialist defence related industry. The successful candidate will have experience in working in a project based mechanical engineering environment with a detailed knowledge of technical procurement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use key skills in technical procurement to support company projects and financial objectives.
  • Balance quality, delivery, and cost in a technical procurement role.
  • Experience in supplier selection and development, and working with a master list of parts and part lists.
  • Proven ability to operate in a self-directed environment and control stock levels.

Requirements:

  • Excellent experience in a technical procurement role (project based).
  • Experience in either ERP or MRP systems and their use in the procurement process.
  • Relevant purchasing/procurement qualification to minimum ONC/D level.
  • Awareness of and knowledge of how to calculate reorder point, economic order quantity, and minimum stock point.
