Lecturer in Construction Management Opportunity

GBS Global Applied Knowledge is seeking an experienced Lecturer in Construction Management to educate and inspire students in the principles and practices of construction project management.

This role involves teaching courses on project planning, risk management, sustainability, and construction technologies. You will develop comprehensive course materials, oversee student projects, and stay abreast of industry trends and advancements. Your guidance will prepare students to excel in the rapidly evolving construction industry.

We have achieved outstanding results in national student surveys, scoring above the sector average in all themes. You will need to be flexible to teach during weekdays, evenings, and weekends.

This role requires a strong commitment to personal and professional development. You will participate in staff development activities, peer observations, and contribute to decision-making processes.

The ideal candidate will hold an honours degree in construction management or a related field, along with relevant teaching experience and qualifications. You should also have extensive knowledge of the subject matter, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess student work, ensuring all learning outcomes are met.
  • Develop, update, and improve course materials as required.
  • Use various learning methods and materials, including live online learning.
  • Attend meetings to contribute to decision-making and develop working relationships.
  • Participate in staff development activities and peer observations.
  • Ensure students receive full support and guidance.
  • Meet performance objectives for student outcomes, satisfaction, retention, and attendance.
  • Undertake administrative duties as agreed with your line manager.

Requirements:

  • An honours degree in construction management or equivalent.
  • A Postgraduate Certificate of Academic Practice or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Previous lecturing experience for similar courses.
  • Experience supervising student work and providing support and feedback.
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant subject matter.
  • Firm commitment to personal and professional development.

Estimated Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
