Job Title: Dimensional Calibration Engineer / Mechanical Calibration Technician

Job Type: Permanent

Location: Stockport / South Manchester area

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Dimensional Calibration Engineer / Mechanical Calibration Technician to join our team at GPW Recruitment. The successful candidate will be responsible for calibrating dimensional, force, mechanical, and torque measuring instrumentation to company procedures, specific parameters, and in line with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Calibrate dimensional, force, mechanical, and torque measuring instrumentation to company procedures, specific parameters, and in line with industry standards.
  • Document and input data/results onto computer and produce quality written documents.
  • Maintain relevant records of work, data, and results in a traceable and auditable manner utilizing calibration management software programs.
  • Interpret engineering drawings with a good understanding of geometric tolerances.
  • Be PC literate (MS Word & MS Excel), Outlook/Email.
  • Have good interpersonal communication skills and be able to work with the minimum of supervision.

Requirements:

  • Completed a relevant mechanical or quality engineering apprenticeship.
  • Previous experience as a Mechanical/Dimensional Calibration Engineer, Mechanical Inspector, QA/Calibration Technician, Toolmaker, Machinist, Bench/Mechanical Fitter, etc.
  • Experience of calibrating a wide range of dimensional/mechanical/physical/torque or hand-held measuring equipment.
  • Calibrating mechanical measuring instrumentation to National/UKAS standards.
  • Relevant qualifications in engineering discipline ideally equivalent to HNC or higher.
  • Previous experience of working in the calibration, aerospace, automotive, engineering, or manufacturing sectors.

Working Environment:

The successful Dimensional Calibration Engineer / Mechanical Calibration Technician will be working in a manufacturing environment with a standard-level education, relevant qualifications or experience, punctuality, conscientiousness, keenness, and a practical approach to work.
