About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Back-End Software Developer to join our team at bet365 in Manchester. As a key member of our sports, placement, and cashout team, you will be responsible for developing high-quality, scalable solutions on Linux and Cloud platforms.

Working in a collaborative environment, you will be exposed to challenges beyond client-facing products and have the opportunity to develop low-latency, highly available, and scalable solutions. With a solid foundation in software delivery, your technical knowledge, people skills, and passion for software development will be invaluable to the team's success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and enhance the existing code base
  • Maintain clean coding practices
  • Identify technical areas of improvement
  • Support product owners
  • Support the testing team during testing phases of projects
  • Contribute to solution proposals
  • Create work effort estimates
Requirements
  • Strong commercial experience in web client or server-side development
  • Experience working with backend technology
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical matters to people across different areas of the business
  • Experience working with Linux
  • Experience working in an environment with high volumes of transactions
  • Experience working with Scrum or other agile software development methodologies
  • Understanding of the development of automation and developer tooling such as Continuous Build and CI systems
