Maintenance Team Lead

Job Purpose
The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for all processes and employees on shift within the Maintenance area of responsibility, reporting to the APU Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the Health & Safety of all employees within the area of responsibility, carrying out daily/weekly H&S audits as defined.
- Ensure the highest levels of housekeeping within the department are maintained.
- Carry out 2nd stage disciplinary warnings, as necessary, for both timekeeping and discipline-related issues.
- Develop and promote succession planning and training for employees within the department.
- Carry out risk assessments for departmental tasks in conjunction with appropriate skills from within the team and engineering.
Additional Responsibilities
- Coordinate the labor resource across the department on shift, including holiday cover contingencies.
- Liaise with fellow employees in all areas to achieve production priorities.
- Ensure all environmental controls and procedures are religiously carried out, where necessary.
- Ensure all processes and procedures are always adhered to.
- Ensure contractors on site are operating to the company's site rules, issued with permits to work, and have provided method statements and risk assessments.
- Work with specialized contractors to monitor quality of work and liaise with suppliers to obtain competitive quotes.
- Write TPMs and PPMs, ensuring planned preventative maintenance schedules are implemented in full and on time.
- Maximize equipment efficiencies and provide manufacturing support.
- Identify equipment spares that need to be added to stores stock.
- Control R+M spend within the monthly budget.
Requirements
- Ideal candidate would be a time-served apprentice, electrical or mechanically biased, multiskilled.
- Previous experience of supervising people.
- A good knowledge of IT systems, with particular skills in Excel & Word packages.
- Experience of robotics would be advantageous.
- Experience of working with the Management Team.
- Familiar with manufacturing equipment, pneumatics, hydraulics, conveying systems, temperature controllers, PLCs, motors, and drives.
- Previous experience of carrying out risk assessments in the workplace would be an advantage.
- Experience of Lean manufacturing tools.
- Strong Mechanical or Electrical Engineering background with a hands-on approach when required.
- Experience of managing skilled individuals.

- Good understanding of Permit to Work systems and LOTO.
- Good communication skills and able to liaise across all areas of manufacturing.
- Flexible and adaptable to meet demanding business needs.
- Target and objective-driven.
- Understanding of MTBF and MTTR.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.
- Promote teamwork within the department and shift.
