About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant with a strong understanding of behaviour management to support students with diverse learning needs and behavioural challenges in our Alternative Provision / Pupil Referral Unit setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementing behaviour management strategies effectively.
  • Providing one-on-one and small group support to students.
  • Assisting in the planning and delivery of lessons under the guidance of the teaching staff.
  • Supporting the social and emotional development of students.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student progress and behaviour.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in an Alternative Provision / Pupil Referral Unit setting or similar setting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Team Teach or equivalent training is highly desirable and can command a higher rate of pay.
  • Restraint Training.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to undergo this process).

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Additional training in behaviour management or SEN support.
  • Experience working with students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures.
