Fusion Research Laboratory Technician

At Astralneutronics, we are seeking a highly skilled Fusion Research Laboratory Technician to join our team. As a key member of our research team, you will play a critical role in the development of Inertial Electrostatic Confinement (IEC) fusion neutron sources.
Key Responsibilities:- Device Assembly and Testing: Conduct hands-on assembly, testing, and maintenance of IEC fusion devices to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Collaborative Research: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team on fusion fuel cycle research projects, contributing to the advancement of fusion power technology.
- Experimental Documentation: Accurately document experimental procedures and results for research analysis, ensuring the integrity and reproducibility of our findings.
- Safety Protocols: Train on and adhere to stringent safety protocols, such as IRR-17, in a laboratory environment to ensure a safe working environment.
- Laboratory Experience: 3 years of experience working in a laboratory environment with familiarity in high voltage, vacuum systems, and/or radiation. Comprehensive training will be provided, but experience in at least one of the three is necessary.
- High-Energy Particle Physics: Experience conducting experiments with high-energy particle physics equipment such as accelerators, cyclotrons, or research reactors is highly desirable.
- Laboratory Equipment Proficiency: Technical proficiency with laboratory equipment and diagnostics tools is essential for success in this role.
- Complex Material Processing: Experience in handling complex material and chemical processing techniques is desirable.
- High-Performance Computing: Familiarity with high-performance computing for simulation, such as Monte Carlo-based codes, as well as scripting languages and/or data analysis packages, would be advantageous.
