Main Duties

The successful applicant will assist in the clinical delivery of musculoskeletal physiotherapy services within a team of close to 100 physiotherapists between multiple sites and being based at the Outpatient Physiotherapy Department at the William Harvey Hospital.

  • Assist Therapy Team Leader in the planning, co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating the Therapy service provided to patients within the clinical specialty on a day-to-day basis.
  • To deputise for Team Leader on clinical and managerial issues within the team, including line management (including clinical supervision) of staff (e.g. Band 5, therapy assistants and students).
  • To be actively involved with training within the Department.
  • To be aware of the commissioning priorities locally.
About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Senior Physiotherapist in our Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Team. Our department has exceptional rehabilitation facilities and close working links alongside Medical and AHP Consultants, a range of Advanced Practice Physiotherapists, including but not limited to spinal, upper limb and lower limb, hand therapists, paediatric, rheumatology and neurological specialties.

Person Specification
  • Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
  • Appropriate State registration with the Health Professions Council
  • Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
  • Fieldwork Educators Course/Clinical Educators Course or Equivalent
Requirements
  • Broad experience as a Junior Physiotherapist (Band 5) and evidence of achieving the competencies of the exit gateway at Band 5
  • Experience working as part of a MDT
  • Contribution to clinical education/supervision of less experienced staff/students
  • Membership of clinical interest group
  • Experience in musculoskeletal clinical setting
