Our client, National Skills Agency, is seeking a skilled professional to coordinate, design, deliver, and develop a program of study for groups of learners. This role offers a great opportunity for a dynamic and experienced individual to join a forward-thinking organization and develop and teach construction skills for learners to enter the sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop best practice in learning, teaching, and assessment to ensure standardization and continuity.
  • Assess learners for progress and achievement.
  • Manage materials and tools for the programs, ensuring all health and safety protocols are followed and learners are kept safe.
  • Maintain the construction program environment, ensuring areas are always fit for learning.
  • Engage with local companies and organizations to enhance the construction experience of all learners.
  • Design, develop, and monitor resources for learner use.
  • Act as a personal tutor to a group of learners and coordinate tutorial support.
  • Set targets and engage learners for their lessons.
  • Provide accurate and current feedback on progress and outcomes to managers and students.
  • Monitor learner attendance and maintain appropriate standards of behavior.
  • Stay up-to-date with curriculum initiatives, development of standards, and general developmental and professional issues related to the delivery of learning in your area.
  • Complete documentation and records of learner performance and administration associated with the role and responsibilities.
  • Be resourceful and ensure resources are used to their maximum potential.
  • Comply with the safeguarding policy and practices and attend training as requested.
  • Stay up-to-date with new legislation, procedures, and techniques and attend relevant mandatory training.

Role Requirements:

  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge, understanding, and application of the construction multi-skills standards.
  • Hold verifiable occupational experience in a relevant area.
  • Be flexible and professional in approach.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Hold a teaching qualification (AET/Cert Ed/PGCE/PTTLS) or be willing to work towards one.
  • Minimum of level two qualification within a relevant vocational sector or significant occupational experience.
  • English and maths to at least level two.
