Job Summary


Mitsubishi Power Europe, Ltd is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Graduate Application Engineer to join our Engineering Team. As a Graduate Application Engineer, you will play a key role in identifying cost-effective reliability enhancements, upgrades, and conducting performance evaluations of proposed design/upgrade solutions to support the operation and maintenance of our customers' equipment.

Key Responsibilities


  • Collaborate with other Engineering Teams to develop computational models/analysis for gas turbine/steam turbine component design, performance, and reliability upgrade proposals.
  • Support the development and improvement of turbine performance assessment tools and processes to support cost-saving initiatives.
  • Work with the wider business to support both proposals for prospective and existing customers.
  • Evaluate the impact of product and performance upgrade solutions over existing performances.
  • Support configuration management activities by maintaining records of all installed configurations, previous modifications, and upgrades in company-approved databases.
  • Support Project management, Customer Support, and Commercial Teams to maintain optimum inventory of used parts.
  • Provide and develop technical capability to support feasibility studies for performance enhancement solutions.
  • Evaluate and maintain the competitive landscape of product and performance enhancement solutions available in the market.

Requirements


  • An Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Thermal Power and Fluids, Mechanical Engineering, or other closely related field.
  • An understanding of the simulation and design of different types of gas turbines for aerospace, marine, or industrial applications.
  • You will ideally have knowledge of thermodynamics and performance calculation. In addition, you will have a demonstrable understanding of the performance calculations of GT, GTCC, and Steam turbine powerplants.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability and able to communicate at all levels of the organisation.
  • Proficient technical report writing and communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and simulation software.
