About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Headteacher to join our team at Norton College in Tewkesbury. The successful candidate will have a leading role in maintaining the efficient organisation, management, and supervision of college routines.
Main Responsibilities- Assist the Head of School in leading and managing the College and take responsibility for the organisation and management of the College in the absence of the Head of School.
- Contribute to planning improvement, translating College aims and policies into actions.
- Implementing Government directives into all College policies, particularly on equal opportunity issues for all staff and pupils in relation to sex, gender, race, disability, and special needs.
- Lead the ongoing development of the Curriculum across the College in accordance with the School Development Plan (SDP) and termly targets within.
- Ensure that core subjects are taught to a high standard throughout the College, any areas of concern should be discussed through SLT, create an action plan for support/development if required, report back to SLT with weekly updates.
- To act on behalf of, and be the main point of contact for, the centre in matters relating to the general administration of awarding body examinations and assessments.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for making effective use of staff expenses and staff mileage claims. They will also oversee the College's finances, ensuring that we are compliant with JCQ regulations and awarding body requirements.
RequirementsThe ideal candidate will have:
- A QTS qualification.
- Experience of working in a similar role, preferably in a specialist school or college.
- Excellent leadership and management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Norton College offers a competitive salary of £55,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition, we offer:
