**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team in Essex. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and supporting local district and borough councils.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Completing holistic assessments to identify housing factors impacting individuals and their households.
  • Working with Health colleagues to achieve safe, early discharge and prevent delays.
  • Referring to universal services and liaising with Family Operations to meet individual needs.
  • Making recommendations based on assessed need for property types, adaptations, and equipment.
  • Progressing and supporting recommendations where specialist input is required.
  • Collaborating with Housing Officers to support Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) funded recommendations.
  • Ensuring referrals are progressed effectively to complete adaptations efficiently.
  • Developing services by working with local and district councils to provide solutions for vulnerable adults and children.
  • Managing cases assessed by Health or Social Care OTs to support Housing Officers.

The ideal candidate will possess a degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy, current HCPC registration, and experience in providing advice and guidance in complex situations. Strong relationships with partner agencies and the local community are essential. A comprehensive understanding of current legislation, regulations, and guidance is also required.
