Job Purpose

The Financial Accountant will be a key member of the finance team, supporting the Head of Financial Control across multiple subsidiaries. The role involves ensuring reporting requirements, balance sheet reconciliations, and audit are met on a timely basis.

Key Areas of Responsibilities
  • Posting and reconciling monthly journals, maintaining and tracking adjustments during the month end.
  • Providing support during audit, liaising with auditors, preparing papers for the audit, and cleaning up accounts.
  • Interface with AP, AR team, in terms of postings and smooth out errors, recons, etc.
  • Understanding forecasts, budgets, and analyzing variances with actuals.
  • Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure that the accounting records for fixed assets, general accruals, and prepayments are properly reconciled.
  • Preparing the month end and daily bank reconciliations.
  • Analyzing P&L variances at month end and providing explanations.
  • Analyzing costs such as logistics costs, admin costs, etc.
  • Understanding of how Intercompany works would be useful.
  • Cash flow management by ensuring payments are processed on a timely basis and preparation of cash flow forecast.
  • Working with AP team to generate weekly payment proposals to be reviewed with the CFO and CEO.
  • Working in collaboration with the Web team to reconcile the web bank accounts.
  • Posting and analyzing commercial journals, scrappage, royalty, etc.
  • Understanding of inventory would be an added benefit.
  • Assisting in consolidation.
  • Assisting the Head of Financial Control on ad-hoc projects.
Requirements
  • Part Qualified professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA).
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data.
  • IT literate, with strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Flexibility to work to tight and unexpected deadlines.
  • Organisation and prioritisation essential to ensure key deliverables and deadlines are met.
  • Accuracy and showing attention to detail.
  • Ability to be proactive in order to improve processes.
  • Passionate and enthusiastic team player.
