We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team of Platform Engineers at Digital Waffle in Birmingham.

This is a hybrid role, requiring you to work from our office in Birmingham one day a week, while spending the rest of the time working remotely. As a "polyglot" engineer, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of technologies on a daily basis.

The ideal candidate will have experience with JavaScript, CSS, HTML, SQL, and Go (Golang) or other languages such as Java, C#, or Python. Additionally, you should have experience with cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS, as well as test automation and agile development methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high-quality software applications using a variety of programming languages and technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks to ensure high-quality code.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve code quality.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in software development.
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns and principles.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
