About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forensic Psychiatry Consultant to join our team at Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Consultant Psychiatry team, you will play a vital role in supporting our improvement and transformation journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in Forensic Psychiatry, ensuring high-quality patient care and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective treatment plans and strategies.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to Forensic Psychiatry.
  • Participate in education and training initiatives to enhance the skills and knowledge of colleagues.
  • Engage in research and quality improvement activities to advance the field of Forensic Psychiatry.
Requirements
  • Full Registration with the General Medical Council.
  • Approved Clinician status at the point of taking up post.
  • MRCPsych or recognised equivalent.
  • Eligible for inclusion in the Specialist Register as a Forensic Psychiatrist or within 12 months of CCT at time of interview.
  • Approved under section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983.
