Job Description

**Job Title:** Despatch Operative - Day Shift

**Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Despatch Operative to join our team at Devonshire. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of outbound and inbound documents, goods, and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Loading and unloading goods from vehicles, moving consumables and items of mail packed on pallets and Yorkes from the unchecked mail area to their designated checked mail lanes.
  • Performing daily equipment checks, including recharging the truck's battery, checking trucks for damage, and conducting forklift truck safety inspection checks.
  • Assisting the goods in team to load and unload trucks as necessary, performing other warehouse tasks such as taking incoming goods from couriers.
  • Printing labels for our production floor teams, using online systems to produce invoices and end-of-day reports, and utilizing the MI system to monitor the progress of jobs at all stages.
  • Conducting consumables count and updating Excel spreadsheets.

Requirements:

  • Previous Warehouse/Despatch/Production experience
  • IT Literate and competent in the use of MS Excel
  • Valid counterbalance forklift truck license

Working Hours:

Contracted hours, working 11 hours per shift, with a varied schedule including evenings and weekends.
