Your Role in Our Mission

We are seeking a highly skilled AI Engineer to join our team at Normal Computing Corporation. As a key member of our mission, you will play a crucial role in developing cutting-edge machine learning applications that transform complex technical documents into actionable code.

Our ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of AI expertise and software engineering skills, with a strong background in distributed systems and large language models. Key Responsibilities
  1. Contribute to AI projects from concept to production deployment, ensuring seamless integration with our products.
  2. Design and build systems using large language models to process complex technical documents, leveraging your expertise in prompt engineering and deployment.
  3. Develop solutions for multi-modal data handling, including PDFs, logs, and tables, to drive business value.
  4. Solve challenging AI and software engineering problems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality results.
  5. Work closely with other teams to integrate AI into our products, ensuring a cohesive and effective user experience.
  6. Create robust AI evaluation frameworks to measure performance and drive continuous improvement.
  7. Develop strategies to manage AI-specific challenges, such as latency, variance, and errors, to ensure optimal system performance.
  8. Stay up-to-date with the latest AI advancements, particularly in language models and multi-modal AI, to drive innovation and growth.
What Makes You a Great Fit
  1. Experience with engineering projects, ideally related to ML or AI, with a strong track record of delivering results.
  2. Strong software engineering skills, especially with distributed systems, and proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (PyTorch, Hugging Face).
  3. Experience with prompt engineering and deploying language models, as well as handling and preprocessing large, diverse datasets.
  4. Understanding of AI safety and responsible development, with a commitment to ethical AI practices.
  5. Knowledge of AI evaluation and benchmarking, with a focus on measuring performance and driving improvement.
  6. Clear communication of complex AI concepts, with the ability to articulate technical ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  1. Experience deploying AI in production environments, with a strong understanding of cloud platform knowledge for AI deployment.
  2. Familiarity with advanced AI techniques, such as few-shot learning and meta-learning, to drive innovation and growth.
  3. Open-source AI contributions or relevant publications, demonstrating a commitment to sharing knowledge and advancing the field.
  4. Ability to balance AI innovation with production-ready systems, ensuring seamless integration and deployment.
