Job Description

Job Summary:

GSL Education is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team of support staff in mainstream Primary Schools based in Southampton. As a key member of the school team, you will work closely with class teachers to provide support and assistance with lessons, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and assistance to class teachers with lesson planning, delivery, and assessment.
  • Work with small groups of students to provide additional support and guidance.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Plans.
  • Contribute to the creation of a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, students, and parents to ensure a smooth and efficient learning process.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a teaching assistant role or similar position.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and educational policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • DBS clearance and up-to-date CV with two relevant references.
