Essential Qualifications for Roadway Maintenance Associate Trainee 1:
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
- Successfully complete a physical and medical evaluation along with a drug screening.
- Possess a Class D Driver License.
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
- Successfully complete a physical and medical evaluation along with a drug screening.
- Hold a Class A or B Commercial Driver License without airbrake restrictions.
- Assessment of capability to operate a large dump truck within two weeks of appointment.
- Inability to pass the assessment will lead to termination of employment.
- Completion of Roadway Maintenance Associate Traineeship 2 or one year of relevant experience.
- Possession of Class A or B Commercial Driver License with necessary endorsements.
- Two NYSDOT equipment operation certifications and specific equipment certifications.
- Mandatory completion of NYSDOT Heavy Dump Certification within the first two weeks of employment.
- Preemployment physical and medical evaluation along with a drug screening is required.
- Cannabis use is prohibited for employees in this position.
- Must be available to respond to emergency callouts within one hour during adverse weather conditions.
- Responsibilities include manual labor, operation of snowplows, and other assigned duties.
- Overtime and shift work may be required.
- Duties may involve supporting the Incident Command System during emergency situations.
