Job Title: Sport & Learning Mentor

Empowering Learning is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Sport & Learning Mentor to join our team at a specialist school in Nottinghamshire/Lincs Border. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support children during lessons and school activities, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work closely with teaching staff and other support workers to develop and implement personalised learning plans.
  • Provide physical management and care of pupils, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Deliver 1:1 or small group activities, tailored to meet the individual needs of each child.
  • Collect and record evidence of children's work, supporting their assessment and progress.
Desirable Attributes:
  • Experience working with young people, particularly those with SEND.
  • Ability to work with children who have behavioural difficulties, using positive behaviour management techniques.
  • High levels of care, resilience, and patience when working with children with complex needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, staff, and parents.
  • Knowledge of SEND legislation and policies, with a commitment to inclusive practice.
