Principal Ecologist Opportunity

Penguin Recruitment is seeking an experienced Principal Ecologist to join our client's team in Gateshead. As a key member of the community, you will contribute to creating meaningful, quality spaces that benefit people, nature, and business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and contribute to various projects, applying expertise in field surveys, assessments, and reporting.
  • Guide clients through the planning and licencing processes, ensuring timely delivery and financial oversight.
  • Develop fee proposals and maintain high-quality standards.
Requirements:
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in ecology.
  • Ability to lead Phase 1 habitat/UKHab assessments and conduct protected species surveys.
  • Protected species licence (ideally Level 2 bat licence).
