About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatrician to join our team as a Locum Consultant Community Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality care to children and families in the Blackpool area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage patients in their direct care, providing community-based paediatric care within the Blackpool area.
  • Work in the Child Development Centre, attending clinics and contributing to the pre-school age service.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local schools, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams, contributing to the evaluation and management of complex cases.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
Person Specification
  • Full registration with the GMC.
  • MB ChB or equivalent qualification.
  • MRCPCH or equivalent qualification.
  • Inclusion on the Specialist Register or eligible for inclusion within 6 months of interview date.
  • Experience in community child health, preferably with a focus on paediatric neurodisability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
