Category Manager Role Summary



This exciting opportunity is for a seasoned Category Manager to join our team at TalkTalk Group, a recognized Top 50 Inclusive Employer in the UK. As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic category plan that aligns with the company's business initiatives and drives cost reduction and improved supplier performance.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the category, including market trends, supplier capabilities, and customer needs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including procurement teams, finance, and operations, to ensure alignment and effective category management.
  • Design and implement category strategy, including sourcing, procurement, and contract management, to achieve cost savings and improved supplier performance.
  • Manage commercial aspects of supplier relationships, including negotiation, contracting, and performance management.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize category spend, and develop and implement plans to drive cost savings and improved supplier performance.
  • Communicate category plan and progress to stakeholders, including procurement teams, finance, and operations, to ensure alignment and effective category management.


Requirements:




  • Proven experience in category management, procurement, or a related field.
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Experience working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with procurement tools and technologies.
