About this opportunity


The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine is seeking an Assistant Professor Social Science to deliver key objectives for outbreak response, research, teaching, and capacity strengthening.



Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have a doctoral degree in a relevant field and expertise in conducting qualitative research in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Key responsibilities will include:



  • Delivering outbreak response, research, teaching, and capacity strengthening objectives
  • Conducting qualitative research in LMICs
  • Collaborating with the UK Public Health Rapid Support Team and other stakeholders


What we offer


The post is full-time (35 hours per week) and fixed-term until 31 March 2025. The salary is on the Academic Pathway salary scale, Grade 7 (GBP52,199 - GBP59,623 per annum). The successful candidate will also have access to annual leave entitlement, pension scheme membership, and other benefits.
