We are seeking a skilled Linguistic Quality Assurance (LQA) specialist to join our team at Universally Speaking.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented and passionate individual to ensure that games and applications provide the best user experience by being linguistic bug-free.

As an LQA specialist, you will be responsible for checking in-game text for linguistic accuracy and correctness, as well as cultural rules. You will also learn how to follow our optimized LQA process and professional standards.

You will use industry-standard bug databases to write detailed bug reports and have ownership to ensure that bugs are fixed and implemented correctly. Your expertise will cover a broad range of Indie to AAA projects and areas of specialization.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Ensure games and applications are linguistic bug-free.
  • Check in-game text for accuracy and correctness.
  • Follow our optimized LQA process and professional standards.
  • Write detailed bug reports using industry-standard databases.
  • Own and manage bug fixes to ensure correct implementation.
  • Become an expert in LQA across multiple projects and areas.
What We're Looking For:
  • Expertise in Brazilian Portuguese.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Passion for video games.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Proactive, tenacious, and enthusiastic approach.
  • Focus on quality and attention to detail.
  • Good computer skills, including word processing and database handling.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in LQA, translation, or proofreading.
  • Working knowledge of CAT tools and software used in LQA testing.
  • Knowledge of the video game industry and trends.

We estimate the salary for this role to be around £35,000-£45,000 per annum, depending on experience and location.
