Job Title: Senior Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Nicholas Associates. As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a key role in coordinating and leading a team of engineers within the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and distribution of work across the team, working closely with the commercial manager
  • Training and developing staff to ensure they have the necessary skills to excel in their roles
  • Attending team leader meetings to discuss project progress and team performance
  • Project management of new projects in partnership with the commercial and engineering team
  • Leading the manufacturing and planning engineers to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Building relationships with customers and suppliers to ensure effective communication and collaboration
  • Organizing and liaising with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services
  • Calculating cost estimates and setting up new Bill of Materials, sales orders, and production routings
  • Leading engineering meetings to discuss project progress and team performance

Requirements:

  • Background in precision engineering - machining/fabrication
  • Excellent inter-personal and presentation skills
  • Competence in Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Project
  • Good working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
  • Project Management Experience
  • Capable of working un-supervised and using own initiative
  • Confident communicator
  • Lean Manufacturing background
