Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Performance Nutrition Specialist to join our team at DFL. This is a full-time permanent role that will involve working closely with our academy players, coaches, and medical staff to design and deliver a comprehensive nutrition program that optimises health, growth, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver a nutrition program for academy players, including the development of individualized 1-1 nutrition support plans.
  • Work closely with coaches and medical staff to implement nutrition strategies that support training, competitive, and rehabilitation programs.
  • Measure, monitor, and interpret body composition data to inform nutrition recommendations.
  • Liaise with chefs to ensure optimal food service provision for academy training days and matches.
  • Prepare travel arrangements, including menu planning and recovery strategies.
Education Support:
  • Develop and deliver an evidence-based nutrition education syllabus for academy players and parents/guardians.
Communication:
  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders, including coaches, medical staff, and academy directors.
  • Provide regular updates and communication to lead performance nutritionist and academy director.
Requirements:
  • An undergraduate degree in nutrition or dietetics, with a recognised postgraduate qualification in sports nutrition or a related field.
  • ISAK Level 1 accreditation and graduate registration with the UK Sport and Exercise Nutrition Register (SENR).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • A good understanding of rehabilitation and recovery practices, as well as how nutrition can support the sports science and sports medicine disciplines.
Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this role is £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a contributory pension scheme, 25 days holiday (plus 8 bank holidays) and access to benefits including high street discounts and volunteering opportunities.
