Key Responsibilities

As a Solicitor to Interventions, you will provide professional advice and assistance to the Judicial Factor and Head of Interventions, ensuring legally competent decision making regarding Judicial Factor appointments and Interventions in law firms under the Solicitors (Scotland) Act 1980.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide solicitor advice and assistance to the Judicial Factor and Head of Interventions
  • React and respond to proposed Judicial Factor appointments and Interventions
  • Work with the Judicial Factor in the disposal of practices and assist acquiring firms with work in progress, mandates, and client funds
  • Liaise with Master Policy insurers regarding claims by clients or agents against the firm's insurance
  • Monitor and respond to data protection matters, including Subject Access Requests and data destruction
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Scottish solicitor with a practising certificate
  • A minimum of five years' post-qualifying experience
  • Significant experience in key practice areas (conveyancing, wills, trusts, executries)
  • Team working and legal advisory skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Project development, management, and delivery, report writing, and planning and management of own workload
  • Knowledge of data protection requirements
