The Role

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at The Bull's Head Inn. As a key member of our kitchen team, you'll be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food quality and consistency, while also contributing to the development of new menu ideas and dishes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day running of the kitchen service, ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standards.
  • Develop and implement new menu ideas and dishes, working closely with the Head Chef and other kitchen staff.
  • Order and manage inventory, ensuring that all ingredients and supplies are stocked and available when needed.
  • Monitor and control food costs, wastage, and labor costs, ensuring that they are within budget.
  • Train and develop kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are able to perform their roles to the highest standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations and guidelines.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent culinary skills, with a passion for creating new and innovative dishes.
  • Ability to work under pressure, maintaining a calm and composed demeanor in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Intermediate food hygiene certificate and HACCP experience.
