We are seeking a seasoned Health, Safety and Environmental professional to lead our QHSE team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in rail safety, knowledge of relevant legislation and industry standards, and a passion for enhancing HSE standards.

As a key member of our team, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert advice and support to staff at all levels, interpreting relevant legislation and codes of practice, and relaying this information to staff.

  • Support operational teams with risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Document, investigate and implement improvements for all accidents.
  • Undertake occupational exposure monitoring and provide advice on risk management and health surveillance.
  • Assist with HSE Audits and Assessment Plans.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for:

  • Proactively identifying key areas of non-compliance and improvement.
  • Developing and delivering HSE training.
  • Coordinating and facilitating safety committee meetings.
  • Producing and reporting metrics accurately.
Requirements
  • Minimum level 3 Health & Safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH National Certificate).
  • Minimum TechIOSH, preferred CertIOSH or equivalent.
  • Full UK driving licence.

We estimate the salary for this role to be around £60,000-£80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
