Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop mechanical systems for our projects, including tender development, project planning, and coordination.
  • Collaborate with the project team to create efficient methods of working and maintain project profitability.
  • Develop specifications and schedules for equipment required for each project.
  • Specify job requirements and parts/equipment/materials needed for project scoping and delivery.
  • Formulate realistic parameters for each project, including design elements and implementation procedures.
  • Establish methods for administering field tests and develop ways to monitor test quality.
  • Complete required paperwork and utilize design drawings, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer's installation manuals to complete assigned projects.
  • Survey mechanical systems and plans, and manage and oversee all elements of project delivery under a Project Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with Company policies, procedures, and work instructions, including commitment to OH&S, environmental, and quality objectives.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field or equivalent.
  • 3+ years' related field and project experience, ideally in the UK water sector.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills, with ability to multitask.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent computer literacy.
  • CAD expertise and experience preferable, with field/practical experience essential.
  • Excellent CDM and health and safety knowledge and application.
  • Willingness to learn and undertake training as required.
  • Positive 'can do' attitude with flexible approach to work.
  • Excellent personal presentation, with valid UK driving licence (full, clean).
