Electrical Generator Service Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Generator Service Engineer to join our team in the Preston/Manchester or Cannock area. Our client has over 30 years of experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing high-quality diesel powered generators for various projects, including data centers, sports stadiums, and high-end domestic/social housing.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Electrical installation of control and power cabling between generators, changeover panels, switchboards, and ancillary equipment.
  2. Testing of installations to NICEIC requirements and recording test results.
  3. On-site testing and fault finding, including reprogramming requirements.
  4. Electrical generator servicing and maintenance at customer premises.
  5. Generator load testing and commissioning.
Requirements:
  1. 3+ years of experience in a similar role, either generators or UPS.
  2. NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition, and 2391 highly advantageous.
  3. Clean driving license and CRB check.
  4. Ability to join a call-out rota and stay away occasionally (2-5 nights a month).
