Job Title: Water Sector Quantity Surveyor Opportunity

Location: Reading, UK

Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a background in the Water Utilities sector to join our team at Carbon 60. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to work on impactful Water projects and contribute to the growth and development of our company.

  1. Commercial administration tasks include raising and closing Early Warning and Variation notices, managing commercial risk and ensuring timely completion of projects.
  2. The ideal candidate will produce Applications for Payment, cost and value reports, and support cash flow and finance processes.
  3. Subcontract management, cost analysis, and identifying margin improvement opportunities are key responsibilities of this role.
Experience & Qualifications:
  1. Essential qualifications include experience in a similar role within contracting, with a proven track record in the Water Utilities sector and familiarity with NEC3/4 and/or IChemE contracts.
  2. Desirable skills include CEMAR experience, SAP knowledge, and dispute resolution expertise.
  3. Required qualifications include Engineering or commercial qualification, such as a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage commercial risks and ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Produce Applications for Payment and cost reports.
  • Support cash flow and finance processes.
  • Identify margin improvement opportunities through subcontract management and cost analysis.
