Job Description

">

We are seeking an experienced Technical Author to join our client's Engineering Department. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining technical documentation for manufacturing processes, management, compliance, and upkeep of quality & environmental procedures, records, as well as managing technical construction files in accordance with the Machinery Directive.

Key Responsibilities

">

- Develop and update operation manuals, user guides, service instructions, maintenance manuals, and other technical documents for our range of vehicles.

">

- Create necessary documentation, reports, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with all relevant standards and legislation.

">

- Develop training materials and procedures to ensure clear instructions are provided to customers and internal teams.

">

Required Skills and Qualifications

">

To be successful in this role, you will require:

">

- Proven experience in technical writing, particularly in engineering or manufacturing sectors.

">

- Knowledge of CE/UKCA certification, Machinery Directive, and relevant industry standards.

">

- Experience working with machinery that involves mechanical parts, electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

">

- Familiarity with writing manuals for equipment in the waste, refuse, recycling, or general machinery industries.

">

- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

">

- Experience with document management systems and technical writing tools is a plus.
