Job Summary
This is a temporary post working 30 hours per week, term time plus two days. At DSAT Multi Academy Trust, children are at the centre of all we do. Our ambitious and emerging Multi Academy Trust currently comprises 17 Primary schools across Rotherham, Sheffield, and Doncaster. We are seeking a diligent and proactive Teaching Assistant with good interpersonal skills and high standards who can support one of our children who has multiple medical needs. We wish to appoint an enthusiastic and conscientious Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be working 1:1 with a young KS2 child to both support their learning and provide care for their medical needs. They will need excellent communication skills, the ability to engage and motivate children, and will be a committed member of the whole school team. This role will also include promoting positive play on the playground during playtimes and lunchtime sessions. We offer full training and on-going support to the successful candidate to ensure they have the appropriate qualifications and knowledge to ensure appropriate care. The successful applicant will need to work collaboratively with the class teacher, respond sensitively and confidently to the needs of children. Applicants applying for the post must already hold a relevant recognised NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification. The successful candidate must have a minimum of Grade C in GSCE English and Maths (or equivalent), and experience of working in a primary school setting. Experience within the care sector would also be preferable. We seek to appoint a Teaching Assistant who will support the school's vision and Christian values (you don't need to be a practising Christian to apply), be willing to take part in staff development, and be happy to join a caring, supportive, and progressive team. We take our safeguarding responsibilities very seriously and the successful candidate will be expected to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service check at an enhanced level and/or be registered with the Update Service.
