We are AtkinsRéalis, a leading engineering consultancy that delivers innovative solutions to complex problems. Our team in the Aerospace, Defence, Security and Technology (ADS&T) sector is seeking an experienced Lead Nuclear Safety Professional to join their ranks.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing safety case leadership, support, and delivery on various projects. This will involve developing and implementing nuclear safety strategies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure safety-informed design and delivery, conducting safety assessments and analysis, producing safety reports and technical documents, and managing/leading safety case activities and teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement nuclear safety strategies for projects in the ADS&T sector
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety-informed design and delivery of projects
  • Conduct safety assessments and analysis to identify and mitigate risks
  • Produce high-quality safety reports and technical documents
  • Manage and lead safety case activities and teams to achieve project goals
Requirements
  • Possession of a Honours Degree (or equivalent) in physics, mechanical engineering, or closely related discipline (2:1 minimum)
  • Technical practitioner in the Nuclear/Defence domains with experience in applying fundamental engineering principles
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships and networks
  • Experience in safety case leadership, support, and delivery on complex projects
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
