About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Sterile Services team as a Trainee Sterile Services Technician. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the decontamination of medical devices, including receipt, disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, packing, and sterilization.
  • Work under supervision to reprocess reusable medical devices, adhering to Departmental Policy, Standard Operating Procedures, and Quality Management Systems.
  • Provide a collection and delivery service to customers, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of medical devices.
  • Inform supervisors of raw material shortages and ensure stock rotation.
  • Meet the demands of the Department's workload while consistently achieving high-quality standards.
  • Investigate non-conformance reports as instructed.
  • Operate decontamination equipment and carry out routine tests in accordance with Planned Preventative Maintenance Schedules, Quality Standards, and Guidance.
  • Communicate effectively with users and other healthcare staff, seeking scientific advice when required.

Requirements
  • GCSE Grade 9-4 or equivalent in Maths and English.
  • Some work experience, preferably in a hospital environment or Sterile Services Department.
