About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Structural Engineer to join our team in the UK's leading supplier to the nuclear industry. As a key member of our Civil, Structural and Architectural (CS&A) team, you will be responsible for delivering high-profile projects across the nuclear lifecycle, from design and build to operations and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver nuclear design work, inspections, and construction site support on projects for public and private sector clients in the UK and overseas.
  • Conduct concept and feasibility studies for multi-discipline design projects.
  • Perform analysis and design using engineering software such as Tekla and Robot, as well as producing hand calculations.
  • Prepare calculations, CDM activities, basis of design, material specifications, scopes of work, technical reports, and inter-discipline design coordination and supervision.
  • Liaise with technicians in the preparation of Revit models.
  • Work with integrated multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-profile projects.
  • Provide technical support to other team members.
  • Ensure all work is carried out with a positive attitude toward safety, both in design and in the office environment.
  • Manage project delivery and assist in mentoring team members to promote their technical and professional development.
Requirements
  • Degree-qualified (BEng or MEng) Civil/Structural Engineer.
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with membership of ICE or IStructE, or working toward full membership of ICE or IStructE.
  • Significant experience in the design of structures in reinforced concrete and steelwork.
  • Previous experience within the nuclear industry and design for seismic loading is advantageous but not necessary.
  • Awareness and experience of using the latest design codes and standards.
  • Understanding of relevant legal and regulatory standards.
  • Ability to obtain BPSS security clearance.
