As a cloud data engineer in our global Data Platform Engineering team at OpenData, you'll drive impactful change by harmonizing data operations globally and enhancing data quality.

The Role

Veeva OpenData Commercial supports the industry with reference data across the healthcare ecosystem, driving commercial sales execution, compliance, and business analytics. Our Data Platform Engineering team delivers tools and data processing pipelines for building the global data core in over 100 countries.

Your responsibilities will include creating tools and processes to efficiently store, manage, and compile data, directly contributing to the success of OpenData.

You must be based in the UK and already hold legal work authorization, as Veeva does not sponsor employment visa processes for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build data tools to streamline global data operations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data solutions
  • Contribute to the Data Engineering community at OpenData to influence tooling and standards, improving data quality and productivity
  • Develop a data validation framework to automate quality control processes
Requirements:
  • More than 3+ years of hands-on Python development experience for production systems
  • Proficiency in data cloud computing technologies (EMR, Databricks) within leading cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure)
  • Experience in designing and implementing data pipelines using distributed storage platforms
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and structured approach to software design
  • A strong desire to learn and fill in missing skills
  • Highly proactive in finding ways to overcome challenges
Estimated Salary: £90,000 - £120,000 per annum, Annual allocations for continuous learning, development & charitable contributions, Work anywhere policy, and Veeva's headquarters is located in the San Francisco Bay Area with offices in more than 15 countries around the world.
