About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Operative to join our team in the Lamb section of our manufacturing site in Merthyr Tydfil.

As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for preparing meat products for sale or consumption, working in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and physical stamina to lift and move heavy objects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cut, trim, skin, sort, and wash viscera of slaughtered animals to separate edible portions from offal.
  • Clean materials to prepare them for production.
  • Process animal carcasses.
  • Eviscerate, and trim carcasses of slaughtered animals.
  • Trim, clean, or cure animal hides.
  • Skin sections of animals or whole animals.
  • Remove offal and prep ready for further processing.
  • Prepare meat products for sale or consumption.
  • Dress carcasses to correct spec.
  • Aitch bone hang carcasses.
  • Remove feet, ears, and horns.
  • Complete general tasks within the abattoir.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical stamina to lift and move heavy objects.
  • Attention to detail to ensure high-quality products.
  • Good communication skills to work effectively with colleagues.

Salary: £11.94 per hour.
